Rangers are in talks to sign Thelo Aasgaard from Luton Town on a permanent transfer, STV has learned.
The 23-year-old, who was born in Liverpool, joined Luton from Wigan in January for £3m.
The midfielder made his senior debut for Norway in March, and he got on the scoresheet and provided an assist in a 5-0 win over Moldova.
Following Luton’s relegation to League One, Rangers have now entered discussions to sign the player, but no deal has been agreed yet.
It is understood that it would be a permanent transfer if agreed.
The latest news transfer news from Ibrox comes after Rangers confirmed the signing of Joe Rothwell from English Premier League side Bournemouth on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old midfielder becomes the Ibrox club’s fourth summer recruit as they continue their preparations for the new season.
He has signed a three-year deal with Russell Martin’s men and joins Lyall Cameron, Max Aarons as new recruits, and Oscar Cortes, who turned his loan into a permanent deal.
