Rangers launch ‘fourth kit’ after fine for fixing replica clothing prices NHSGCC

Rangers have launched a new “fourth kit”, just days after being fined for fixing the prices of their replica clothing.

A new black kit with light blue and red pinstripes running through it was released on the club’s official website on Friday.

On Tuesday the Ibrox club were fined £225,000 by the Competition and Markets Authority after they were found to have broken the law by fixing retail prices of Rangers-branded kits and other clothing items from September 2018 to July 2019.

Shirt prices for the new kit range from £50 for juniors to £110 for the long sleeve ‘pro’ edition with baby and infant options also available.

The competition watchdog handed larger fines to JD Sports and Elite Sports after all three groups worked together to stop JD undercutting the retail price of the shirt on Elite’s Gers Online store.

As well as their traditional light blue shirts, Rangers have a red-and-white away strip and a predominately orange third kit, all of which retail from between £65 and £110 in various formats on their online store.

Rangers travel to Edinburgh to play Hearts on Saturday knowing a win could put them top of the league for at least a couple of hours.

A 2-0 win for the home side, however, would see them leapfrog Rangers into the 2nd place.
