Glen Kamara has traveled to Leeds to undergo a medical after a transfer to the English side was agreed with Rangers.
The Finland international has not played for the Ibrox club this season after making it known that he wanted to move on, and after being linked with a number of clubs over the summer, a deal with Leeds, worth around £5m has now been settled on.
Kamara will go through a medical before finalising the move, leaving Rangers four years after joining the club from Dundee for a small fee.
The 27-year-old played over 190 times for Rangers, scoring nine goals, and helped the team to the Premiership title in 2021 and the Scottish Cup the following year. He was also a key figure in the run to the 2022 Europa League final.
Kamara, who has 52 international caps, played regularly under managers Steven Gerrard and Giovanni van Bronckhorst, but current Ibrox manager Michael Beale said last week that the player was keen to move on to the next chapter in his career.
“We had an honest conversation when I came back into the club about his future,” Beale said. “There has been no fall-out.
“We were expecting Glen to move this summer. It was his wish as well. I wasn’t in the mood to persuade anyone to play for Rangers.
“It has to be the right club and valuation.
“He has been an excellent signing, but I want different here.”
Rangers have revamped their squad extensively over the summer, with nine new players joining the first team squad.
