Danny Rohl admits Rangers will have to max out in their final four games if they are to emerge as William Hill Premiership champions this season.
The Gers’ 3-2 defeat by Motherwell at Ibrox last weekend left them four points behind leaders Hearts and one behind Old Firm rivals Celtic, with the title out of their hands.
Three of Rangers’ last four games are away from home, and ahead of the crucial game against the Jambos at Tynecastle on Monday, Rohl outlined his requirements.
“I think you will have a lot of 50-50 duels,” said the German coach.
“You have to move the ball in good areas. You have to be very active. You have to ask for the ball. This is crucial.
“You have to be well-organised. You have to be smart in the duels because if you make stupid fouls in dangerous areas, then we give them the strength for set-plays as well.
“On the other side, if we have our best day, then I think they will have also a lot of challenges to control us.
“We need in the next four games, performances at nearly and maybe sometimes over 100 per cent to take the points.
“I think this is crucial now. You cannot just play 95 per cent or just 45 minutes of good football.
“You have to play it over the full time and this is a big part in this game.”
Rohl had to change personnel and shape at half-time after a first-half mauling from Motherwell, who led 2-0 at the interval before scoring a late winner after Rangers responded.
However, the former Sheffield Wednesday boss revealed his players returned to training this week still confident of getting the points to win the title.
He said: “We were disappointed on Sunday, but on Monday, when I arrived in the building, the spirit was outstanding from the players.
“They were, of course, still disappointed, but when I spoke to the players they were straight and said, ‘no, we still have a big chance, and we go again’, and it was great to see.
“Of course, after Sunday, we were down, but we had not the feeling that anyone’s given up.
“This is what I like. And this is general, if you ask all the three teams at the moment, all the three teams will say they can win.
“Now we need a result from our side and a little bit of help. But there is a big, big belief.”
Rohl revealed left-back Tuur Rommens is back in training, striker Ryan Naderi is making progress but remains doubtful, while defender John Souttar is nursing a knock
