Rhys Williams’ loan-spell at Aberdeen has come to an end as he returns to Liverpool.
The 22-year-old defender has been unable to break into the first-team at Pittodrie since joining from the English Premier League side in the summer.
The former England under-21 defender will now return south for the remainder of the season.
Aberdeen confirmed the move on Wednesday and thanked Liverpool for their co-operations.
A statement released on their website said: “Rhys Williams has been recalled from his loan spell by his parent club, Liverpool.
“The 22-year-old centre-back arrived at Pittodrie back in June but has been unable to break into the Dons’ starting eleven.
“We thank Rhys for all his efforts and wish him the very best in his future career.
“We would also like to acknowledge Liverpool for their co-operation and professionalism throughout.”
