Brendan Rodgers has urged his Celtic stars to “etch their names into the concrete” of the club by clinching another treble when they take on Aberdeen on Saturday.
Both sides are looking to get their hands on the oldest trophy in world football when they meet at Hampden for the Scottish Cup final.
The Hoops go into the game as heavy favourites as they aim to complete a clean sweep by adding to their League Cup and Premiership titles.
If they are victorious, it will be a record ninth domestic treble for the green and white side of Glasgow and sixth in just nine years as they look to continue their stranglehold on Scottish silverware over the last decade.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Rodgers said: “I think if we can get the treble over the line on Saturday, then it would mark a really fantastic season in the club’s history.
“We’ve been fighting to gain some credibility and to be competitive at the very highest level of European football in the Champions League, and I feel we have done that to an extent this season.
“Of course, our bread and butter is domestic football, and that will be the same with any of the top teams in the top leagues, you want to be dominant domestically.
“So the players have a chance to etch their names into the concrete, and that can never get taken away from them once they have done that.
“And they have the possibility to do that at Hampden on Saturday.
“So, yeah, we relish that opportunity, and it’s what you want to be able to do at clubs this size.”
