Ross County have submitted an appeal against the red card shown to Jack Baldwin in the team’s defeat to Motherwell on Saturday.
Baldwin was dismissed by referee Don Robertson after a challenge on Motherwell striker Kevin van Veen when he was through on goal in the 70th minute of the Premiership match in Dingwall.
Robertson initially showed a yellow card but then upgraded it to red after reviewing the incident on the pitchside monitor.
Van Veen went on to score twice against 10-man County to secure a 2-0 win for his side.
Ross County feel Robertson made the wrong call and now want an independent panel to review the decision. A date for the fast-track hearing has not yet been announced.
A County statement read: “Ross County can confirm we have appealed the red card shown to Jack Baldwin in Saturday’s match against Motherwell.
“We will update supporters once the appeal process has concluded.”
