Ross County have announced the signing of Akil Wright from Stockport County.
The 28-year-old has signed a three-year deal after County agreed an undisclosed fee for his transfer north.
Wright, who can play in midfield as well as his preferred place on the right of the defence, had previously played at York City, Wrexham, Barrow and AFC Fylde.
“We are absolutely delighted to finalise the signing of Akil,” County manager Don Cowie said. “We identified Akil at the end of the season as a player who we believe is a great fit for our football.
“Akil has a wealth of experience in English football, predominantly playing in defence but has the versatility to also play in midfield.”
Wright becomes County’s fifth signing of the summer, following Ricki Lamie, Will Nightingale, Jack Hamilton and Charlie Telfer in joining the club.
The Premiership side, who stayed up after winning a play-off against Raith Rovers at the end of last season, kick-off the new campaign away to Stranraer in the Premier Sports Cup on Saturday.
