Eamonn Brophy has returned to Ross County, joining the Staggies on a permanent deal after a loan spell in Dingwall last season.

The striker moved north in the January transfer window on a short-term deal to help County in their fight against relegation.

Brophy scored three goals in eight games but then suffered a thigh injury that meant he missed the conclusion of the season.

County finished in eleventh place but won a dramatic play-off against Partick Thistle on penalties to retain their Premiership status.

Brophy will now be part of manager Malky Mackay’s squad as he plans for progress when the new season starts.

Mackay said: “We are delighted to welcome Eamonn back to the club, his impact during his spell last season was significant and he became a popular member of the squad.

“His experience in the Scottish game is clear to see and he is another great attacking option added to the squad.”
