Ryan Jack says Rangers have to use their frustration to overturn Braga tie

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack admitted to frustration at his team’s narrow defeat to Braga but says using that feeling can help the team rescue the Europa League quarter-final tie.

Abel Ruiz’s goal separates the teams after the first leg in Braga and gives Rangers everything to play for in next Thursday’s second leg in Glasgow.

Jack says the noise of the Ibrox faithful can be a factor in the team getting the win that they need, but also says that channeling the feeling of losing in Portugal can help.

“We don’t like losing at this level and we are desperate to get to a semi-final,” he said.

“When you are losing the game there is frustration there but we have to use that frustration, and the home crowd, to turn it around.”

Braga seemed content not to take risks after taking the lead and Jack was confident that Rangers could get on the front foot and turning the tables after a “pretty even” game.

“They looked like they weren’t putting us under too much pressure and weren’t creating too many clear-cut chances,” the Scotland international said. “I think overall in the game, to me it was pretty even.

“We’re frustrated to lose the game but we always wanted to make sure we were still in the tie for next week.

“As the manager said, when we have our 50,000 crowd behind us we can create a great atmosphere and a special result.

“We’ve done it before and hopefully we can do it again next week.”
