Scotland have been drawn to face Croatia, Portugal and Poland in League A of the Nations League.
The national team learned their fate at UEFA’s draw ceremony in Paris and will be up against tough competition as they look to continue their development under manager Steve Clarke.
Scotland are competing at the top level of the competition for the first time, having won their group ahead of Ukraine, Republic of Ireland and Armenia to earn promotion in 2022.
Each team plays each other home and away in a round-robin, with two games in each of September, October and November.
Under the new format, if Scotland finish first or second in the group, they would advance to the Nations League knock-outs. Previously only the group winners had advanced but UEFA have expanded the latter stage of the competition.
The quarter-finals take place in late March 2025, with the four winners advancing to the finals tournament in June 2025. The finals would be hosted by one of the teams in the final four, with each national association obliged to take part in the bidding process.
If Scotland finish bottom of the group they would be automatically relegated to League B for the next Nations League.
Should the national team finish third, they would face a two-legged tie against a side that has finished runners-up in League B.
