Austria will travel to Scotland for this month’s World Cup qualifier – but are likely to be missing their Germany-based players.
Bayern Munich star David Alaba will be among those set to miss the tie at Hampden on March 25.
Covid restrictions mean anyone returning to Germany from the UK has to quarantine for 14 days, with no exemption for elite sportspeople.
Bundesliga clubs are therefore allowed to refuse to release their players for international ties.
That prompted the Austrian FA to consider requesting playing at a neutral venue.
However, the nation’s governing body said on Monday that the squad would travel to Glasgow and that efforts would be ongoing to make the Germany-based players available.
