Scotland forward Amy Gallacher says Scotland will take the positives from their draw with Belgium into the next games as they look to build on two good Nations League performances.

A Sophie Howard header right at the death was enough to secure a point at Hampden and avoid a second consecutive defeat.

Celtic forward Gallacher, who is the current top scorer in the SWPL, insists the draw was the least they deserved after dominating most of the game in Glasgow.

She said: “I think overall we were the better team so I think we deserved a point in the end.

“We were the better team and we were on top so I think everyone knew a goal was coming and thankfully it came with the last kick of the ball.

“At that time of the game you just send everyone forward and hope for a goal and we managed to get that.

“We’ve got that in the team, Pedro tells us all the time, just fight to the very end and we managed to get a point in injury-time. We are obviously gutted not to get the three points but we’ll take the point.”

Pedro Martinez Losa’s side fell to a 2-1 defeat against European Champions England on Friday despite a battling performance in Sunderland.

And it would have been really harsh if they ended the camp with no points to show for what was two encouraging performances against two highly rated sides.

They now have a double header with the Netherlands coming up as they look to climb up the table with Belgium leading the way on four points and England and the Dutch side both on three points.

Gallacher said: “The group is still wide open, we will take the positives and negatives from this camp into the next game against the Netherlands and hopefully get the three points there.

“The main thing in the group is to try and win games, but we will take the positives from the last two games, a great performance against England and another good one tonight, we probably could have took more of our chances but we’ll take the point and move forward.”

The 24-year-old forward, who nearly scored late in the game after being brought on a sub and looked lively against a stubborn Belgian defence, was playing in her first international game at Hampden.

She said: “My first game at Hampden was amazing, my family were all in the stands. I’m just grateful for the opportunity to play at the national stadium.”
