Scott Brown has signed a contract extension with Ayr United after being linked with a potential move to St Johnstone.
The former Celtic captain reportedly pulled out of the running for the Perth job following initial talks with the Premiership club.
Brown and assistant Steven Whittaker have now signed one-year extensions which commit them to the Somerset Park club until the summer of 2027.
The 39-year-old former Fleetwood manager took charge of Ayr in January and has led them to the top of the Championship after an unbeaten start to the season with 15 points from seven matches.
A statement released by the Championship club on Thursday said: “Ayr United can confirm that Scott Brown & Steven Whittaker have signed extended contracts at Somerset Park until 2027.”
