The draw for the Scottish Cup semi-final has taken place as the four remaining teams find out who they will play at Hampden.

A place in the final will be at stake in the games that will be played on the weekend of April 19 and 20.

Holders Celtic have been drawn against St Johnstone while Hearts will play Aberdeen for a place in May’s final.

Premiership strugglers St Johnstone were the last team to book their place in the last four when they defeated Championship side Livingston at Almondvale on Monday.

A wonder strike from Graham Carey secured a 1-0 win and they will return to the national stadium for the first time since winning the competition as part of a cup double in the 2020/21 season.

This came after a weekend of action starting on Friday night when Hearts beat Dundee 3-1 at Tynecastle thanks to a brace from Sander Kartrum and an own goal by Simon Murray.

Next up was Aberdeen who comfortably beat Queen’s Park 4-1 at Pittodrie to end any hopes of the Spiders pulling off another shock following their defeat of Rangers at Ibrox.

Kevin Nisbet, Graham Shinnie and a double from Oday Dabbagh put Jimmy Thelin’s men 4-0 up before Zak Rudden scored a late consolation.

Treble chasing Celtic got the better of Hibernian in Glasgow on Sunday thanks to goals from Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah.

The 2-0 win for Brendan Rodgers’ side was Hibs’ first loss since their last trip to Parkhead at the start of December.

Celtic, who beat Rangers to lift the trophy last May, are aiming to win the tournament for a third consecutive season and a record 43rd time.

St Johnstone won the trophy in 2021 and will be dreaming of another glory day in Glasgow.

Hearts last won the Scottish Cup in 2012 while Aberdeen have to go way back to 1990 for the last time they lifted the oldest trophy in football.
