Scottish darts star Cameron Menzies is not one to forget his responsibilities despite preparing to make his debut in the World Championships.
The 34-year-old Glasgwegian proved that by taking on a half-shift at his day-job just hours before making his bow at the PDC tournament.
Die-hard Rangers fan Menzies, who is a relationship with fellow darter Fallon Sherrock, will come up against Austria’s Rusty-Jake Rodriguez in the second match on stage on Friday’s opening night at Ally Pally.
But rather than spending his morning preparing for the event, he was plumbing in a bathroom.
He posted a picture of himself at the job on social media with the caption “Working before the world’s. What a joy.”
One poster responded asking why he why he never took the day off and he joked “Tried to. But got half a shift. Take that.”.
Menzies was a quarter-finalist of the PDC European Tour in Austria in 2019 and reached the third round of the UK Open earlier this year.
The PDC World Championships will be shown live on Sky Sports with the final being held on January.
The winner will be awarded £500,000, the defeated finalist £200,000 and each semi-finalist will get £100,000.
