Aberdeen face a tie against Portuguese giants Sporting in Lisbon if they beat Viking to reach the third round of Europa League qualifying.
Four Scottish sides learned their fate at UEFA’s draw on Tuesday lunchtime, with the draw for Derek McInnes’ side among the most high-profile.
Rangers were drawn to play Luxembourg’s Progres Niederkorn or Dutch side Willem II away from home. Progres famously shocked Rangers when they defeated Pedro Caixinha’s side in 2017 but the Ibrox side eased past the same opposition on their way to the group stages of last year’s competition.
Celtic, who dropped into the Europa League after losing their Champions League qualifier against Ferencvaros last week, will be away to Latvia’s Riga or San Marino’s Tre Fiori.
Motherwell will travel to face KF Lac or Hapoel Beer-Sheva if they get past Coleraine in the second round.
Second round ties will be played as one-off games on September 17. The third round matches are scheduled to be played on September 24.
