Sebastian Cancelliere revealed his excitement at continuing Glasgow’s journey under Franco Smith after agreeing a new contract.

The Argentinian winger has pledged his future to Warriors for the next two seasons.

The 29-year-old joined Warriors in the summer of 2021 and has scored nine tries in 14 appearances this season.

“I’m extremely happy to be staying at Scotstoun,” Cancelliere told glasgowwarriors.org ahead of Saturday’s BKT United Rugby Championship quarter-final against Munster at Scotstoun.

“We’ve got an incredibly talented group of players here and I feel like we’re really building something as a group.

“I love the way we play rugby and I feel so comfortable in the systems and set-up we play here. It’s the way I love to play and this season has been so much fun to be involved with.”

Smith added: “We’re pleased to be able to secure Sebastian’s services for the next couple of seasons – he is a model professional and someone with whom we love to work as a coaching group.

“His drive and determination to be the best version of himself as a player is seen by the work he puts in on the training field, and his performances this season have been excellent.

“He has fully bought in to what we are looking to build here and we look forward to continuing to work with him.”
