Sebastien Pocognoli urges Scotland to 'take control' against Switzerland at Hampden

Sebastien Pocognoli has urged Scotland to “be aggressive and take control” when they face Switzerland at Hampden Park on Tuesday.

The Belgian will take charge at home for the first time after making his debut in the dugout in the 0-0 draw against Slovenia on Saturday.

Scotland welcome the Swiss on Nations League match day two as they bid to record their first victory since Steve Clarke’s post-World Cup departure.

The new Scotland manager admitted it will be a tough test but believes his side must aim to be the dominant force with a raucous home crowd behind them.

“It will be tough opposition tomorrow, but it’s also fantastic to play at home against that kind of opponent,” he said.

“We have two choices. To respect them, and we have respect in a sporting aspect, but on the approach of the game, we just want to play at home, show that we are at home and try to be aggressive and to take control of the game if we can.”

Scotland face Switzerland at Hampden Park on Tuesday before taking on North Macedonia away and Slovenia at home next month.
