A second pitch inspection has been scheduled ahead of the Dundee vs Rangers game after Dens Park was determined playable on Wednesday morning.
Officials checked the playing surface at 11am, around nine hours before the game was scheduled to kick-off.
But with heavy rain forecast, a second inspection has been set for 3.30pm.
It comes after, Dundee had four games postponed this season amid ongoing concerns about their pitch.
SNS GroupThe fixture had been rearranged from last month when heavy rainfall in the area caused the pitch to be waterlogged.
Rangers manager Philippe Clement described it as a “crazy situation”.
A Dundee spokesperson said: “Following this morning’s scheduled pitch inspection the match referee has decided that the pitch is currently playable.
“However, with rain forecast for later today both clubs and the league have agreed for a further pitch inspection to take place at 3.30pm today.”
A Rangers spokesperson said: “Given the forecasted weather conditions in Dundee this afternoon, a further inspection is to be held at 3.30pm.
“Rangers has continued to insist that a final decision is made as early as possible for our traveling supporters, and fully understands the inconvenience this continues to cause.”
Saturday’s game against Motherwell was given the go-ahead less than two hours before kick-off with the Fir Park club stating their concerns about player safety.
Another call-off could cause a fixture for the league with the Premiership set to split after the weekend’s games.
The game itself could also play a big part in the season with Rangers aiming to go back top of the table and the hosts looking to secure a top-six spot.
Dundee chiefs said on Tuesday that they had contingency plans in place.
The game is due to kick-off at 8pm on Wednesday.
