Slovakia winger Jaroslav Mihalik will miss his country’s Nations League clash against Scotland on Sunday after testing positive for Covid-19.
The Lechia Gdansk player, who started in Slovakia’s Euro 2020 play-off win over Republic of Ireland on Thursday, and a Slovak backroom member are self-isolating.
Slovakia are already without defender Milan Skriniar, who previously tested positive.
The players have been asymptomatic and will undergo further testing in the coming days, the Slovak Football Association said in a statement.
The rest of the squad have travelled to Scotland for the match.
Meanwhile three members of the Czech Republic squad, who play Scotland on Wednesday, have returned positive results.
Their head coach and nine players have travelled to Israel – their opponent on Sunday. They will be joined by players from the Czech top flight.
The rest of their team is awaiting retest results and may join, the Czech team said.
Czech Republic lost 2-1 at home to Scotland in September, who have not been without their own Covid troubles in recent days. Stuart Armstrong tested positive, while Ryan Christie and Kieran Tierney are self-isolating as they were said to be close contacts.
Scotland will play Serbia in the Euro 2020 play-off final after they beat Israel 5-3 on penalties at Hampden on Thursday.
