Motherwell midfielder Blair Spittal says it’s important that they ‘don’t panic’ after seven Premiership games without a win.
The Steelmen have only picked up one point from a possible 21 with their last victory coming in a 1-0 win at Hearts on September 3.
Stuart Kettlewell’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat at Kilmarnock on Saturday, just three days after conceding four in a 4-2 home defeat to Aberdeen.
They now face a trip to St Johnstone on Tuesday in what will be the Perth side’s first game under new manager Craig Levein.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Spittal said: “We’ve had a wee bit of time to reflect on Saturday’s performance, and it’s time to get going again.
“We can’t get too down about it, it’s important in these situations that you look at things positively, over the course of the season we have shown we are a good team and it’s important that we get back to doing that.
“At moments like this it’s important that everyone gets around each other and we try and block as much as the outside noise out as possible and get back to doing what we are good at and that starts tomorrow.
“Obviously just now we are going through a difficult moment, the minute you start letting outside noise interfere in the changing room that’s when things don’t go well. So we all just need to focus on the positives.
“It’s a good time of the season with games coming thick and fast so it’s important we reflect on the weekend and prepare for what will be a tough game.
“We’ve not picked up as many points as we would’ve liked, but the league’s very tight and it only takes a couple of good results to get yourselves back in the mix so It’s certainly not a time to panic.”
“We can only control what is going on on the pitch, the last couple of games have been disappointing, we’ve shown character in some games but at the weekend we didn’t do enough to get anything from the game.
“It’s going to be another tough game on Tuesday, they’ve got a new manager in so it’s difficult to know what to expect but we will be going into it in a positive frame of mind.”
