St Johnstone have signed former Dundee United defender Barry Douglas on a season long deal.
The 35-year-old left-back, who has been capped for Scotland, could be available for this weekend’s game against Dundee if he is granted SFA approval.
After starting his career with Queen’s Park in 2008 he spent three years at Tannadice between 2010-2013.
He then moved to Poland to play for Lech Poznan for three years before spending a season in Turkey with Konyaspor.
Douglas returned to the UK in 2017 and had spells with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers before a second spell with Poznan.
He made his Scotland debut as a sub in a 1-0 win over Hungary in 2018 in what remains his only cap.
The Perth side confirmed his signing on Monday.
He said: “It is an exciting time. I am looking forward to the opportunity to come in and try to help the guys develop.
“There is a project here. It is a bit of a transition period with the new manager coming in.
“I had a look and it is quite a young squad, so I can definitely bring my quality and experience to help everyone develop both on and off the park.
“The hunger is still there, the drive is still there and that is why I am so excited to be here playing my football.”
