Stuart Armstrong has been called into the Scotland squad for the upcoming Nations League double-header after two players were forced to withdraw from the squad.
Lewis Morgan and Che Adams were part of the initial squad named by Steve Clarke for the matches against Croatia and Poland but they will now miss out.
Adams had picked up a thigh injury while playing for Torino but was named in the initial group while the Serie A side assessed his fitness.
Scotland face two games that will not only decide their Nations League fate but also have a bearing on the national team’s seeding in the World Cup qualifying draw.
Since being promoted to League A of the Nations League, Scotland have struggled to produce positive results, with only one point from their first four games.
However, a successful double-header could not only see the team avoid relegation to League B but could even see Clarke’s side finish second in their group if they win both matches and other results go their way.
