Thelo Aasgaard believes Rangers can still go up another level after clinching their seventh successive victory on Thursday night with their first Europa League win of the season.
Mohamed Diomande’s first-half strike was enough to give Danny Rohl’s side three points against Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets and a first triumph in a league phase fixture at the seventh time of asking, even though the Govan outfit, with four points from 21, cannot progress in the competition.
Rangers have been markedly rejuvenated on the domestic front since Rohl took over from Russell Martin in October.
The Gers return to the William Hill Premiership title race against Dundee at Ibrox on Sunday where they start the day behind second-placed Celtic on goal difference and six points behind leaders Hearts, who host the Hoops on the same day.
Midfielder Aasgaard spoke of growing belief and confidence in the Rangers dressing room with the potential for more improvement, saying: “I think you can see it in all the players.
“The fans can see it, we feel it and hopefully we carry it on.
“Totally different? (From three/four months ago) maybe not, but the feeling is really good at the minute.
“It’s still the same lads, but we’ve got a really solid mindset together. We’re a real group, we feel that, even off the pitch.
“I think we can definitely go up a level. We won 1-0 but we probably should have won more. Hopefully, we can bring that on in the future.
“We’re in a good place at the minute. I feel like we’ll do as well as we can and get stronger.”
The 23-year-old Liverpool-born Norway international looks to be at last finding his feet at Ibrox following his move from Luton last summer and has scored four goals in seven games.
He said: “I’m really enjoying the city in general, really enjoying life outside.
“Once I’m settled there, then my football on the pitch usually echoes it.
“I’m enjoying it. I’ve built up a bit of momentum and I hope to keep that going.”
