Rangers have suffered a second blow to their title chances in the matter of days after being held to a draw by Dundee at Dens Park.

The Ibrox side will now go into the last five games of the season three points behind Celtic after going three league games without a win.

Dundee nearly took an early lead when Malachi Boateng fired a shot just wide of Jack Butland’s post after only a minute into the match.

The home side then suffered a blow when captain Joe Shaughnessy suffered an injury and had to replaced by Antonio Portales.

Rangers were pushing for an opener and had a string of chances with Kemar Roofe heading over and Abdallah Sima having a shot saved my Dundee goalkeeper Jon McCracken.

The game was flowing from end-to-end in the first half and Dundee had a penalty claim waved away after a quick VAR check when John Souttar was suspected of handling the ball in the box.

They had the ball in the net soon after when Tiffoney fired a rebounded effort past Butland but it was ruled out for offside.

McCracken was then called into action again and made two big saves to keep out Tavernier and then Goldson to keep the score at 0-0 going into the break.

Philippe Clement made a triple change ten-minutes into the second half with Cyriel Dessers, Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell replacing Todd Cantwell, Roofe and Fabio Silva.

Tony Docherty then made a couple of changes of his own with Curtis Main and Dara Costelloe replacing Bakayoko and Tiffoney.

Dessers came close to opening the scoring with twenty minutes left on the clock with a curling effort from outside the box, but McCracken just managed to get a hand to it when it looked as though it was heading into the top corner.

As the minutes started to tick away Rangers continued to push for a winner and Matondo fired wide of the post with just over five minutes remaining.
