UEFA has “strongly advised” Rangers fans without tickets to not travel to Seville for the Europa League final against Frankfurt on Wednesday.
The Ibrox club booked their place at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium on May 18 after their 3-1 victory against RB Leipzig.
Football’s governing body have now released a statement advising fans without tickets not to journey to Spain for the final or to try to buy resale or counterfeit tickets.
UEFA issued the warning to all teams involved in this year’s Europa League Final, Conference League Final, and the UEFA Champions League Final.
A statement on its website read: “In view of the upcoming UEFA Europa League Final 2022, the UEFA Europa Conference League Final 2022 and the UEFA Champions League Final 2022, UEFA reminds fans about its ticketing process and the dangers associated with purchasing tickets on the secondary market.
“Whilst UEFA understands that there will be fans who have been unsuccessful in their application for tickets, fans are strongly advised not to travel to the finals without tickets or purchase tickets on the secondary market.
“In order to maintain the safety and security of fans, ticket holders should be aware that checks will be carried out at the finals and the local authorities in the cities will take action against the unauthorised resale of tickets.”
It comes after Rangers fans revealed they were facing “ludicrous” ticket prices ahead of the final as third-party websites have advertised match seats for nearly £10,000.
On ticket resale website Livefootballtickets.com, seats for the match are starting at £1,398 for Category Three tickets – which should cost just €65.
For Category One tickets, which are originally priced at €100, prices are now rising to £9,999.
