A woman whose body was discovered close to a roundabout in Aberdeenshire has been named by police.
Jill Barclay, 47, from Dyce, has been identified by officers who are conducting a murder investigation.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with Ms Barclay’s death.
The body of Ms Barclay was found near an address on Stoneywood Road in Dyce at around 3.30am on Saturday, September 17.
Police Scotland has indicated its enquiries will be ongoing “for some time” in the area to establish the circumstances of what happened.
In a statement, the family of Ms Barclay asked for privacy.
“Jill was a deeply loved life partner, mother and daughter,” they said.
“We would now appreciate being left in peace to grieve privately.”
Detective superintendent Andrew Patrick of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team asked that anyone who may have information about the incident to contact them.
“Our thoughts are very much with Jill’s family and friends at what is a very difficult time for them,” he said.
“We have a dedicated team of officers in the area working on this investigation and I would like to reassure the community that they can speak to them if they have any concerns.
“I am appealing to anyone who say anything suspicious in the area who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
