Angus council leader defends 11% tax hike

The local authority's rise is the region's highest in nearly three decades.

The leader of Angus Council says a sharp rise in council tax is necessary to “protect frontline services”.

The authority’s 11% hike is the region’s highest in nearly three decades.

It follows significant increases across the country including Dundee City Council which backed an 8%.
