Emergency services were called to Lochindorb near Grantown-on-Spey at around 5pm on Thursday to reports of someone in the water.
It is understood that the incident is related to a teenage boy, and that a group of kayakers were on the water when emergency services were alerted.
Water search crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also involved in the search operation.
Police Scotland has since confirmed that a body has been pulled from the water in Lochindorb. The family of a 17-year-old boy, who was reported to be in difficulty, has been informed.
