Colin Beattie quits as SNP treasurer following arrest

The MSP has also stepped down from his role on Holyrood's Public Audit Committee

Colin Beattie has quit as the SNP’s treasurer following his arrest by police investigating the party’s finances.

Mr Beattie said he wanted to avoid any further distraction from the work of the First Minister to improve the SNP’s governance and transparency.
