Cruise ship passengers, could soon have to pay a tax to enter Scottish ports in a similar way to how a tourist tax would work.
A consultation on the plan is under way and is looking at the impact a levy would have on coastal communities.
Orkney and Shetland along with other Scottish ports, have been welcoming cruise ships for decades.
But there are mixed views on just how the tax would make a difference.
