The original axe used by Stanley Kubrick in his classic Hollywood horror film The Shining is expected to sell for tens of thousands of pounds at a Glasgow auctioneers

It’s one of a number of items from across the world of TV, film and music being sold in the biggest auction of entertainment memorabilia ever held in Scotland.

Also featuring in the McTear’s auction are props from James Bond and Batman, first-edition comic books, and items from the world of music, including a guitar used on stage by Bob Dylan in 1984.

The auction house has collected artefacts spanning six decades from the world of entertainment for the biggest auction of its kind ever held in Scotland, and is expected to fetch between £200,000 to £500,000.
