The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, which cares for animals in central and eastern Scotland, has reported the highest demand for its services in its 140-year history.
With operational costs on the rise, the charity is calling for support this winter for its foodbank services and for rehousing the hundreds of animals it takes in every year.
