The Edinburgh Fringe Festival officially begins tomorrow with artists from 63 countries performing in almost 4,000 shows.
But artists and organisers are warning that its future is in a fragile state, with locals priced out of performing.
Today, the First Minister said he is committed to supporting the creative industries, with arts and culture spending rising by £34 million this year.
