Some of the most vulnerable across Scotland are facing “digital exclusion” as more public services move online.
It’ll come as no surprise to people – particularly the elderly. It’s the myriad passwords, the links, the technical language.
And it’s not just a few, 15% – that’s nearly one in six of us – lack the technical skills to deal with everyday life.
The Auditor General for Scotland and the Accounts Commission say the Scottish Government needs to develop a long term action plan to tackle the problem.
For authorities and businesses it might mean progress and efficiencies. For too many people, though, it means they are excluded.
