The ongoing woes of the lower Clyde’s last shipbuilder – Ferguson’s – were again under the spotlight.
As they struggle to finish those long-delayed new CalMac ships – and face the prospect of an empty order book, the latest man tasked with “turning things around” has hit out at what he calls unfair competition in a bidding process to build new “small vessels” for CalMac.
The yard confirmed it will try to win the order – but there’s no guarantee of success.
