Firefighters have now left the scene of a large blaze at a garage in South Lanarkshire, after battling the blaze that took hold on Monday evening.
Crews were called to Bothwell Road in Uddingston just after 6pm as the blaze ripped through the building, and worked through the night to bring the incident under control before leaving the scene around 9.30am on Tuesday.
Employees of the garage say they have lost their entire livelihood, with one man telling STV News his entire livelihood has been destroyed, leaving him out of pocket and now unable to work.
Footage on social media showed large plumes of smoke billowing from the building, before the roof of a petrol station appeared to collapse, with customers asked to leave a nearby Tesco while emergency services tackled the flames.
