‘Game changer’ cancer vaccine marks landmark in race to beat disease

Jennifer Robertson became the first patient in Europe to receive the injection

A woman who was the first patient in Europe to take part in a trial testing a personalised cancer vaccine, is now free from the disease.

Jennifer Robertson was diagnosed with gastro-oesophageal cancer in 2024, and was chosen to take part in the groundbreaking treatment.

The breakthrough treatment sees the vaccine built for the patient’s own immune system, aiming to optimise its efficiency in targeting cancerous cells.
