A girl who was told she had a limited chance of ever starting school due to health complications has officially started primary one.
Six-year-old Annabelle Main was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a severe congenital heart defect with very slim chances of survival.
In recognition of her significant milestone, a red bench has been unveiled at her local school to recognise the youngster, who has defied the odds.
Her school held a fundraising skipathon in her honour, raising money for the British Heart Foundation and helping raise awareness of heart conditions.
