Gray accused of having ‘no credible plan’ for NHS winter pressure

With winter fast approaching many in the service fear they're not ready for tomorrow.

The Health Secretary is being accused of having “no credible plan” for the NHS this winter by opposition MSPs, who claim he is “compromising patient safety.”

Neil Gray unveiled his winter preparedness plan in Holyrood which he says will focus on keeping people away from the hospital.

He said Covid is still hampering the health system all year round, with around 600 beds – the equivalent of the entire capacity of Wishaw General Hospital – taken up by Covid patients in July.
