Concerns have been raised about a shortage of housing in the Western Isles as hundreds of workers are expected to arrive in the coming years to support renewable energy projects.

Major windfarm developments, a sub-sea cable and substation are expected to be built, with more than 15,000 workers required over the next five years.

SSEN say they’re working with the local council and housing groups to find the right solution.
