Dentists in Scotland are warning the industry is on a “knife-edge” as it continues to struggle with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, almost five years on.
Figures show that nearly 40% of people who have registered with a dentist have not seen one in two years.
Practitioners say they’re struggling to fill and retain staff – making it harder for people to access NHS appointments.
Today the Scottish Government agreed to increase its spending on dentistry by around 15%, taking the total to around £500m.
