Infected Blood Inquiry says families should be compensated

Thousands of patients were infected with HIV and hepatitis in the 1970s and 80s

More people who lost loved ones because of the infected blood scandal should be entitled to compensation immediately, according to the chairman of an inquiry.

A report released today says some family members, including parents who lost children and children who lost parents, remain “unrecognised” and “it is time to put this right”.
