Island businesses braced for disruption as ferry repairs further delayed

A new timetable has been put in place leaving some areas without their usual service.

Businesses across the West Coast are bracing themselves for further disruption across CalMac’s ferry fleet.

The ferry operator has published a revised winter timetable following further delays in repairs on one of its largest vessels, the Caledonian Isles. Others are due in drydock for their annual overhaul.

This afternoon, services on the relief vessel for the Ullapool to Stornoway route, the Isle of Lewis, were cancelled due to technical faults.
