Major Glasgow road reopens after multi-million refurbishment

The bridge on Shields Road is a huge commuter route and has been closed for more than a year.

A major road connecting the southside of Glasgow to the rest of the city has reopened.

The project cost £12 million and will mean the Shields Road bridge is no longer subject to weight restrictions.
