Staff say they're facing rising levels of abuse from people desperate for appointments

Buckling under demand with little sign improvement. Doctors at GP surgeries across the Scotland warn the challenges they face dealing with the level of demand from patients is unlike anything they’ve experienced before.

Despite many practices delivering half a million appointments each week demand is still significantly outweighing capacity.

It comes as pressure on the NHS mounts.

Unions representing a range of workers from paramedics to cleaners have today rejected the latest round of pay offers.
