People waiting two years on NHS lists hits record high

According to new data over 5,000 people have been waiting for more than 24 months.

The number of people who’ve waited for more than two years on an NHS waiting list in Scotland has hit the highest level on record.

According to data from Public Health Scotland, at the end of March there were over 5,000 people who’ve waited for more than 24 months.

That’s up from nearly 4,000 last year.

And the number of people waiting for more than a year is also on the rise with over 63,000 people stuck on lists for more than 12 months.
