Hundreds of hospital beds have been freed up by a pilot project aimed at getting older people off the wards when they no longer need to be there.
Around 200 patients have gone through the programme in Edinburgh in the past year.
Those involved say rolling this approach out more widely could help ease the pressure on hospitals.
