A return to recognisable community officers on the beat in local areas is at the heart of a new vision for the future being put forward by Police Scotland.
The chief constable told STV News her priorities include cutting crime and supporting victims.
But she says the force needs more investment in technology and resources – and is looking at whether it can borrow money to pay for it.
